Hosted by Business Turku and Turku University of Applied Sciences in cooperation with Basque Maritime Cluster, this afternoon session brings together Finnish and Basque maritime companies, cluster organisations, and ecosystem partners to explore opportunities for collaboration.
Through company presentations, discussions, and networking, participants will have the opportunity to connect with potential partners and identify new business opportunities across the two regions.
About Basque Maritime Ecosystem: the Basque Country has a large maritime tradition and concentration of maritime industry, comprised of over 200 companies that export approximately 70% of their production. The sector employs more than 13,500 workers and has an R&D investment rate of 5%.
Basque Country is an industrial and technological hub with the capacity of building a high-tech vessel with 90% of local supplies. The innovative industry focuses on various niches including shipowners, engineering and design, shipbuilding, technology and equipment, offshore energy, fishing and blue economy, ports, and recreational sailing.
