Company Spotlight: Take Two Studios
The Turku Archipelago is a globally unique filming location
Film producer Sara Norberg of Take Two Studios travelled by water taxi to the island of Örö in the outer archipelago in late summer 2025. Together with a German producer, she was scouting locations for the international adventure film Operation Napoleon: Tears of the Wolf. The West Finland Film Commission had arranged a two-day familiarization trip, and upon arrival the German producer exclaimed: “Could we shoot the entire film here?”
Örö offered smooth rock formations, open sea views, forests, sandy coves, and former military tunnels that could easily be transformed into adventure-film settings. Accommodation and catering were available for a crew of around 60 people, and actors and crew moved between locations using bicycles arranged by the local hotel operator. Time and again, as she rode past meadows, groves, and sun-dappled barren cliffs, the producer found herself thinking: this landscape exists nowhere else in the world.
Exceptional services
The West Finland Film Commission helped us find local crews, locations, and gain access to places that are not always easy to reach. The financial incentive offered by the Commission was flexible and easy to use, reporting was reviewed quickly, and interim reporting could be completed during production. This was highly significant for the project’s success.

Why bring your production to the Turku region?
The Turku region offers a compelling combination of financial incentives, diverse filming locations and hands-on production support. Through the West Finland Film Commission (WFFC), productions can receive regional support of up to 12.5% of local expenditure, including local crew costs, accommodation and catering. This can be combined with Business Finland’s national audiovisual cash rebate of up to 25%.
