Vema Lift to build a new plant in Kaarina

  • The new 9,000 m2 plant will shorten delivery times, bring additional capacity and increase efficiency
  • 80 percent of the company’s rescue cranes and vehicles are exported
  • The new Kaarina plant will be completed in early 2021

Vema Lift Oy has signed a contract for a new factory with Hannumet Oy. The completely new 9,000 m2 factory combines all current 3 operations into one major unit. The factory will be completed by the beginning of 2021. ”I want to thank our partner Hannumet Oy for making this project possible”, says Mr. Matti Huttunen, CEO of Nordic Rescue Group.

Vema Lift’s TFL-series’ vehicles.

Vema Lift Oy has made some 1,000 fire fighting and rescue platforms in Kaarina, Finland since 1987 and is a well-established brand in the industry. Now under the Nordic Rescue Group ownership, Vema Lift has taken a major step forward for growth. In addition to shorter lead times and improved efficiency the additional space enables Vema Lift to add manufacturing capacity and grow its business. The new site will also have a testing area and a show room. Vema Lift will arrange an in-house exhibition at the site during the opening ceremony.

Nordic Rescue Group is specialized in rescue vehicles for professional rescuers operating in demanding environments. The company employs 120 manufacturing professionals and has vast network of subcontractors. Its Group companies are Saurus Oy and Vema Lift Oy. The new entity Nordic Resscue Group will also have its office at the new Vema Lift facility in Kaarina. Saurus (established in 1982, based in Jyväskylä) is a well-known brand in Finnish rescue vehicle production with nearly 2,000 delivered vehicles both in Finland and abroad.
