Summary
InnoTurku strengthens the RDI ecosystem in the Turku region by developing collaboration between companies, higher education institutions, and public sector actors, enhancing data-driven management, and accelerating the commercialisation of innovations. The project supports the adoption of new technologies, promotes business growth and internationalisation, and reinforces the Turku region’s position as a frontrunner in high-level expertise and sustainable growth.
The project’s key operating models include ecosystem development that strengthens the coordination of RDI activities, the Innovation Pulse (Innovaatiopulssi) for data-driven management, the Innovation Pathway (Innovaatiopolku) that enhances companies’ funding and internationalisation capabilities, and Innovation Partnerships (Innovaatiokumppanuudet) that foster collaboration between higher education institutions and businesses.
Responsibilities of Business Turku
The initiative is implemented through close collaboration between the City of Turku and Business Turku. The City of Turku is responsible for coordinating the ecosystem agreement, developing network collaboration, and building the data-driven management model, while Business Turku accelerates business-driven RDI activities, research collaboration, and the commercialisation of innovations.
