Turku Science Park Ltd’s BusinessUp accelerator programme will start again in the autumn. The application deadline is already 21.8., so now is the time to apply! The programme gives you the opportunity to test and refine your business idea free of charge, offers expert visits and workshops on different aspects of entrepreneurship and sparring from skilled business and coaching professionals.

The eight-week intensive coaching will sharpen the business idea and crystallise the value proposition of an early-stage start-up or aspiring team.

“Each team also has its own mentor,” says growth coach Arto Branders from Turku Science Park Ltd.

Last year’s winner aims to expand to global markets

CompactGrowth, which won the Best Idea award at last year’s BusinessUp, is an innovation from the Natural Resources Institute Finland that is the first to bring a vertical growing application for tall plants to market. The patented cultivation device and method allows for optimisation of conditions, significant increase in yields and unprecedented resource efficiency in the cultivation of tall plants.

CompactGrowth aims to make the solution available to growers globally over the next few years.

“BusinessUp was a great sparring programme for us and we participated with the whole team. BusinessUp was an efficient and comprehensive discussion of the most important topics in the startup world by top performers. The pitch training was particularly memorable, where our team’s presentation was completely reworked with great results! Even though most of our team is based in Helsinki, it was easy to participate in the programme, as all sessions of BusinessUp were easily accessible remotely,” says Panu Miettinen, Business Specialist at Luke, a member of the team.

The programme itself will be launched on 24 September and will culminate in the traditional Demo Day event in November, when the participating teams will present their ideas refined during the programme to the public.
