Turku aims to be carbon neutral by 2029. In addition to local actions, the direction of EU climate policy and the support the EU offers for the development of innovations that accelerate the transition to sustainability are key factors.

The European Union has committed to a 90 % emission reduction target for 2040, but at the same time, competitiveness and security have become increasingly important issues on the EU agenda. What is the EU doing about climate change? What kind of support does the EU offer for sustainable growth? Come and hear about the opportunities available to Turku-based companies to benefit from EU funding and what’s new in the EU arena.

At the February Climate Coffee event on 24 February at 9–10 on Teams, there will be an information package directly from Brussels on what new initiatives are being planned in the EU, as well as the EU’s future budget and funding opportunities in the near future. In addition, there will be two company presentations on the use of EU funding for the development of sustainability transition solutions in the Turku region.
